Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, they come to school each day excited and ready to learn. My students are creative, caring, and motivated.
They enjoy playing with friends, helping out in the classroom, giving lots and lots of hugs, and most importantly learning.
Many of them are being raised in single-parent households and all of them receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Regardless of the obstacles they face, I spend each day ensuring that they have the best educational experience possible. From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

All of my students deserve the best of me! These items will help make learning fun and accessible. Card stock and ink will help make games and projects bright and sturdy. Students use marker to express their creativity.

Having magnetic ten frames allows student to manipulate and move pieces for better understanding of friends of ten and adding and subtracting.
Students learn better in a calm, quiet and organized environment, helping the teacher be organized is essential. Supplies are often limited, therefore having them on hand and not having to wait for them makes the organization at the ready.
