I teach in a classroom of sweet and eager 6- and 7-year-old children who are excited to learn about the world around them. They come into school every morning excited to learn and be a part of our school community.
My students are a bunch of creative, curious, and eager first graders from Florida.
Our school is a dynamic neighborhood school, where the neighborhood really tries to lift up and support our students. My students love coming to school every day and learning about their world!
My Project
As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to better my teaching. In order to become better at Guided Reading, I would love to study Jan Richardson's approach to help my students to grow as readers.
The students who need my help the most are my struggling readers.
I want to do whatever I can to help to get those students up to grade level. By using Jan Richardson's Intervention Guide and new innovative materials from Teachers Pay Teachers, I'll be able to help those struggling students to reach their fullest potential in my first-grade classroom. As a mentor teacher, I plan to share my new materials with other teachers on my team as well.
