Teacher with a Disability Helps Students with Disabilities Achieve
Help me give my students their assignments on bright paper so they can stay organized and focused on completing their work.

My Students
My students have special needs and could really benefit if they had access to paper that stimulates their attention. For example, if they had their assignments on neon paper it would be a lot easier for them to keep up with their assignments and organize their work to make sure it gets done on time.
A little over three years ago I was in a serious accident where I almost lost my life, but I lived.
Now, I have to live with a traumatic brain injury. Because of this, I was unable to teach for two years. Now that I am finally back in the classroom, I need some help because I came back to a new environment where my students have many special needs and many disabilities. They are so loving and so caring and try so hard to accomplish the lessons I try to teach them.
My students come from low-income socioeconomic backgrounds where they struggle to bring simple things like paper and pencil to school. If my project gets funded I can provide them with the things they need so they can learn to their best.
My Project
Many of my students struggle with the ability to stay focused at school. I have found that if their work is photocopied on bright paper it truly helps them stay focused and organized so they can complete their work successfully and on time. I have also found that by giving them rewards like playing an educational game when they complete their work or pass a test they are much more motivated to do their best on all assignments given. I try to find ways to encourage ALL my students, disabilities or not, to stay on task and stay organized and if they can do this they are rewarded with playing an educational Math game. The bright paper helps them stay organized and motivated to complete all tasks given.
