My Students

My kids are awesome! We are a large, public, urban high school, grades 9-12, with about 1300 kids. The student body is awesomely diverse in part because our high school serves as the ESL center for Pittsburgh Public Schools.

My classroom is an inclusion classroom that has a variety of learners including English language learners, autistic support students, students with learning disabilities and other special education needs all in one room.

I've found their uniqueness makes my class even more amazing because of the myriad of backgrounds, needs, and experiences from which they pull their inspiration to learn and grow together!

My Project

Integrating technology into the student services has taken on a whole new meaning now. Technology used to be something that was used to supplement instruction, but has since become arguably the most important tool in education.

An iPad would allow me to develop materials and programs to connect with my students through technology in a multitude of ways.

In order to do the best work I can, I need the best tools which allow a multitude of programs to engage students more effectively. (Especially since I've already got the best students!)
