Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so honored to teach a class of 24 amazing first grade students in a diverse, Title 1 community located in the inner-city. It is in one of the largest cities in the country where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. They represent many beautiful ethnicities, and come to school with a love for learning, ready to show others what they've learned.
During this pandemic, I am eager to provide them with meaningful instruction, and needed resources to support their at-home learning!
Despite our many challenges, such as technical difficulties while learning remotely, the seclusion of being away from school and friends, my little learners truly enjoy our virtual time together. They have remained 100% resilient!
My Project
As we continue with distance learning, I want to make sure I provide high quality instruction to my first graders, enhancing my synchronous and asynchronous learning lessons. When distance learning began in March, it was very difficult to provide my students with optimal lessons due to lack of resources. With this document camera, I could easily teach all of our lessons, including our financial literacy lessons.
I want my students to experience a realistic virtual classroom environment while they learn with me!
I will be able to utilize the document camera as I would in the classroom. I could model and teach my financial literacy lessons with my little learners in front of me on zoom, or I can record a lesson for viewing while they work asynchronously.
