Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are bright and active children who love learning through the arts and sciences at our magnet school. Access to online programs offer a variety of learning activities to keep my students actively engaged in their learning. I teach in a diverse high poverty district and I want to give my students access to a wide variety of learning resources. These students are our future and deserve the very best learning experiences that we can give them. It is vital that we get them ready for what the future holds.
My Project
Lakeshore Learning has some incredible math kits that would completely engage my students for the upcoming 2019-2020 school year. The subjects for these math boxes cover place value, time, money, addition and subtraction, and operations. I can see multiple uses with these math boxes. My students could use them when I am doing small groups, if they finish their work early, or even to take home to get that skill down. The playing cards will allow pairs of students to work together and learn to collaborate. The puzzles are such a unique way to learn math skills -my students will have fun learning! We'd love your help in bringing these materials to our classroom. Here we go!
