Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My kids are full of curiosity, feelings, and energy. We are quickly developing a family-like community where we show interest in all of the members in our group. We have a brand new preschool program with busy hands and bodies that are ready to be engaged in learning through play, exploration, creativity, routine, peer interaction and plenty of dialogue and music. We focus on language and cognitive development, creativity, explorations, hands-on projects (no worksheets whatsoever), team building, gross motor development, and coordination. We enjoy singing, dancing, painting, pretend play and active outdoor play.

My Project

My preschool students request that I let them borrow a book every week. I will eventually run out of story books unless I grow our collection.

A love of reading develops with time.

I want to use this school year to keep them interested in reading. I hope that together with their parents, they develop an appreciation for literacy. I'd like for my students to have opportunities to borrow our classroom books to take home and read with their family members. Storytime before bed or on the weekend is a great way for families to bond. Many of books I'm requesting are best sellers and others teach emotional development.

We would need a wagon to roll our books out to the yard so that parents and students can borrow them at the dismissal time.

We appreciate any support you may provide. Let's get these little ones some books.
