I am a teacher at a Title I, fine arts magnet school. My students are from different economics backgrounds. The majority of them are economically disadvantaged. Their home settings range from two-parent to single-parent homes. A majority of my students are of Spanish culture (or descent) or African-American.
My students are innovative, hard working, and most importantly, dreamers.
We focus on student-led education. My students display their eagerness to learn, and most importantly, the character traits that come with persistence and resilience.
My students will benefit from this this project because, this laptop will be a tool to help me improve and execute classroom management, developing rigorous, technologically integrated and effective lessons, parent and college communication, data tracking and closing gaps, and community research and outreach projects as well.
Most of my students rarely have the opportunity to experience technology and the discovery that follows.
With this tool, I will not only expose my students to a new way of learning, with this tool, my students will have the opportunity to experience Skype activities, develop researching strategies, and experience more digitally interactive lessons. With this tool, as a Creator, I will be able to have access to programs and software that will help me develop resources (such as project-based learning activities) for other educators, as well as create more community events, fundraisers, as well as generate networking with other educators and community leaders. This laptop will help me stay organized and up-to-date- with important events around me. With this tool, student instruction will be maximized and I as an Educator and Community Helper will be more organized!
