This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are some of the brightest second and third-graders you will ever meet. They have a true passion for reading, math and science. Their young minds are thirsting for knowledge and it is truly exciting to be a part of their learning process.
Unfortunately, they come from low income homes where their parents struggle to help with homework and projects due to their limited English proficiency.
Our school is a Title I School that tries to provide all that is needed to help our students but due to budget cuts, it becomes very difficult to do so. I usually find myself trying to come up with creative ways to pay for the materials needed for class projects. More than 95% of our school is on free or reduced price lunch. These families struggle financially.
My Project
My students and I will benefit from your generous donations because you will be providing me with the tools that I need in order to connect with them during distance learning. Reliable technology is fundamental to staying connected with my student. Furthermore, you will be providing me with a new laptop and wireless earbuds that I need in order to create exciting and fun lessons without having to worry about my outdated computer freezing or shutting down throughout my lessons.
Distance teaching and learning come with many obstacles, but with your donations, you will give us an opportunity to succeed in these difficult times.
It is my hope that you will be part of our journey.
