This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach 2nd grade at a low-income public elementary school with over 1,000 students.

My students face immense challenges outside of school that they can't control.

We are battling poverty, homelessness, foster care, and abuse in the homes. So what they can control is their learning and how they will succeed through hard work and determination. Even though they have challenges outside my classroom, they always bring their enthusiasm to learn and their drive to better themselves every day to class. I know my students will be successful, because I truly believe in all of them.

My Project

With the overwhelming support of donors giving to my classroom computer projects, I now have several computers! Hooray Donorschoose! Who knew another problem would creep up with keeping our computers charged?

With limited plugs in the classroom, many times my students are sitting on the floor next to a plug charging their computer as they work on it.

We really need a charging computer cart in order to charge the computers overnight so we can use them throughout the day. This will make a tremendous difference because all our computers will be charged. I won't need to have kids sit on the floor next to plugs or take turns using the computer, because a computer battery died while waiting to be plugged in.
