This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are part of an ICT 1st-grade classroom located in the Washington Heights neighborhood of upper Manhattan. My students come from low-income families that have limited internet access and technology.
My class is filled with young, eclectic, energetic, and curious minds that love to explore through learning, but, that are struggling with remote learning.
My students require specialized and individualized interactions to create a positive remote learning experience.
My Project
The Samsung Galaxy Tablet 10 and its accessories are a great necessity during distant learning. Technology has become a prime resource and tool during these times to provide our students with the education and support that they require while we all work from home.
This tablet will provide me the ability to be flexible and accessible while remote teaching to my first graders.
Unlike a computer or a laptop, the tablets are small, resourceful, and mobile. Its functional design can provide me accessibility to my students and their parents throughout the day regardless of where I am in my home. Allowing me to stay in contact with my families when they require support or if I need to do a quick mini-lesson/catch-up with a student in need. This tablets multi-functional features are a necessity to me and my special education classroom!
