Hardworking. Dedicated. Adaptable. Ambitious. Eager. Resourceful. Responsible. Persistent. Diligent. Adventurous. Collaborative. Creative. These are all words that I would use to describe my students.
I teach 175 of the most captivating, diverse students you can possibly imagine, students of all levels, from special needs to gifted and talented, with a myriad of ethnic and financial backgrounds.
These young people spark a Marie Kondo level of joy in my life that I just cannot explain with simple words. I want nothing more than to teach them the most engaging Texas history lessons possible with the resources that they deserve.
My Project
The 2020-2021 school year is one for the history books. Not only is our school operating during a pandemic, but it's an election year to boot!
At my school, almost all of the technology on campus has been handed out to students who are working from home, leaving no technology for students on campus.
I would like my students to be able to research public officials as well as candidates of this election season in our history class. In order for them to discover their political beliefs and determine who they might vote for (if they were of age of course), we need technology.
Also, every year we learn about the state and federal government, but this year is very unique between the election and the pandemic. In Houston, as well as throughout the state of Texas, there was a lot of controversy about returning to school. Our governor, attorney general, and county judges were constantly contradicting each other about whether or not school districts could be required to start the school year off campus... But, who REALLY has the power to make that decision?
During our government unit, I would love for students to be able to dig deeper into that topic to discover it for themselves. In order to do that, we need access to technology. This Dell computer can help us do that.
