My Students
We have created a little family in our classroom, and it is truly a place where they feel safe, at home, and loved.
My students are the best!
They are full of energy and always looking forward to our next musical adventure. Many of them have picked up a second instrument to help another section, or have been mentors to new players, which has helped the classroom so much. They are very excited for next semester and our upcoming performances in the school and throughout the community.
My Project
Technology in the music classroom is usually overlooked, so sadly I have fallen a bit behind in this area. I would like to be able to join this professional learning community, called Midnight Music, which caters especially to music teachers of all levels and specialties.
Over the spring semester, I completed a trial membership to see if it was something from which my students and I would benefit, and I truly felt like it had some extremely useful material.
Aside from lesson plans and ideas, there are professional development classes to take to become more familiar with internet browser extensions, apps, websites and music creating programs in general. It is extremely specific to my area and would be a great help to access this for the upcoming year.
Using what I learn on this site, I can better tailor my classes to the technology my students have at home and in the classroom. It will give me some good ideas about staying current in terms of content, technology and software.
