Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My senior English students have requested recommendation letters from teachers for their college applications. I would like to teach a lesson on etiquette and writing thank-you notes. Please donate thank-you note cards to my classes so we can write thank you notes to the teachers who have made a difference in our education! The goal for this lesson will be to learn the characteristics of a good thank-you note and to complete two thank-you notes to send to teachers. I will assess rough drafts so that these notes are clear and everything is spelled correctly and punctuated. This will also teach students a bit about the importance of behaving with politesse and style. In addition, we'll be writing YOU a thank-you note for donating materials. I have 65 students and they each need 2 thank-you note cards, with a few extras for mistakes. This project will cost only about $2 per student and provide an important life lesson! Thank YOU in advance for making a difference in our classroom.
