My Project

School library collection development is the process and journey of systematically building the collection of a school library to meet the information needs and pleasure reading of the school community in a timely and economical manner using information resources including qualitative and quantitative data. Copyright law provides for the principle, commonly called "fair use" that the reproduction of copyright works for certain limited, educational purposes. But what are those limits and freedoms?

Honoring copyright is important enough that it is protected by the Constitution yet librarians and teachers struggle with paying for all the media we know and love.

Our campus needs me to be ready to discuss knowledgeably what is fair use and what we need to purchase as an ongoing process. As a primary media purchaser and manager, it makes sense that I review these intertwined topics well with books with lasting value.
