Teach Me About Financial Literacy

I need an HP Chromebook to help me learn about financial literacy, so I can teach it to my students.

My Students

My school is Title I and located in a small North Carolina town. It has a diverse population in which the majority of the students are economically disadvantaged. Almost half of my students are also learning English as their second language. My students are full of enthusiasm about learning but often come to school without the necessary tools. As their teacher, I want to provide them with all of the resources they need in order to learn and be successful.

My Project

The HP Chromebook will be used to help me enhance my financial literacy skills. With the Chromebook, I will be able to access some financial literacy websites where I can learn how to better teach it to my students. These professional development websites will allow me to watch videos for free on topics such as how to teach budgeting, needs vs. wants, and savings plans.

Teaching financial literacy to my students will help them learn how to spend money wisely and how to make good financial choices.

These skills will help enable my students to be active contributors to our global economy.

The HP Chromebook will enable me to grow professionally into a stronger financial literacy teacher. This, in turn, will have a positive effect on my students' learning.
