This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Pre-IB Inquiry Skills class is created for high school freshmen to allow them the opportunity to learn what they need to know to reach their maximum potential. This class focuses on critical thinking, literature and writing skills. The book "How to Read Literature like a Professor" will give students the insight they need to compete with their peers and truly engage in reading. At this stage in their education they are now reading in a whole new way and instead of learning to read, they are reading to learn. By having this text as a companion to students throughout the school year they will be able to maximize their literary analysis and exceed curriculum expectations. My school mostly serves low income families that are primarily black and Hispanic. Having a class set of novels will ensure that students do not need to worry about the price of their learning, and instead can focus on the education they receive without worry or concern.
