My Students

No Taps...No Boom...No Crash...Due to low social-economic status many our students do not have the financial means to purchase an instrument that will allow them to participate in band. Every year I must turn students away from band simply because of financial reasons.

We are a Full Title I school, about 900 students and the majority of students is from minority backgrounds and lives in poverty, approximately 87 percent free and reduced lunch.

I realize the impact that music and music education can have on the lives of my students.

My Project

Our jazz band meets one day a week after school and the students will use the drum set to perform in jazz band, percussion ensemble and popular music. This project is to establish a jazz band and teach students fundamentals techniques on how to play jazz.

Many of my students never been introduced to jazz music because of their social economics background.

To help turn this dream into a reality, I am asking for a donation in order to teach students basic jazz. With your donation, we can provide a drum set for our students.
