Tapple Game for SPED Students

Help me give my students a fun review for vocabulary and other concepts in class. My students are special ED and need engaging, team-building activities, and Tapple does this.

My Project

I work in special education, both in the inclusion and resource setting. My students are often socially awkward, reluctant, unmotivated and addicted to their phones. I need more engaging activities that require more real-time concentration and physical reaction, to provide more opportunities for social interaction on the road to greater comprehension of curricular material.

I've seen the "Tapple" game in action in my inclusion teacher's room.

The great thing about this game is that it offers and engaging, team-building activity that can be used to review a variety of topics. We can review vocabulary words, words in stories or describing characters. Also, it is a game played in real time and space, and one that requires cooperation from team members, and it gets them away from their phones!

I've also added a Jenga and Game of Life to the order. I needed one more Jenga for my class activities. The Game of Life is fun and touches upon actual real-life situations. This adds to my general theme of encouraging more socialization in person and in real-time, which is something my students really need work at. They may not correspond exactly to curricular standards, but they help with social-emotional learning.
