This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Colorful tape can be a great tool to help your students with art projects in several creative and practical ways:
Creating Borders and Shapes: Colorful tape can be used to create clean, defined borders for paintings or drawings, allowing students to experiment with geometric shapes, straight lines, and patterns without needing rulers or stencils.
They can place the tape on paper, paint over it, and then peel it off to reveal crisp lines.
Textured Art: The tape itself can become part of the artwork. Students can use different colors and textures of tape to build layered, three-dimensional pieces. It adds an interesting tactile element to their projects, especially for those who enjoy sensory experiences.
Guiding Composition: For younger or less experienced students, colorful tape can serve as a guide for spacing and composition. For example, you can use the tape to mark sections of their canvas or paper to focus on different elements like background, foreground, or symmetry.
Mixed Media Exploration: Using colorful tape introduces students to the idea of mixed media, combining traditional materials like paint or pencils with non-traditional ones. This can expand their understanding of what art can be.
Collaborative Art Projects: In group settings, colorful tape can be used to define each student's workspace on a larger, shared piece of art. It can help maintain structure while encouraging teamwork and creativity.
Sensory Benefits: For students on the autism spectrum or with sensory needs, colorful tape can provide a predictable and soothing element in the art-making process. The act of placing and removing tape, as well as seeing the colors, may be calming and enjoyable.
