My students are becoming 2nd graders this year! In my class, I have 18 students with varying needs, abilities, and ways of learning. They are a creative and excited bunch of students who are eager to learn all that 2nd grade has to offer. We are located in Gainesville, Florida in a Title I school. In addition, many of my students' families come from diverse backgrounds which transfers into our colorful classroom community, as well!
Within this group of diverse learners, I have a large population of ELL students within my school and within my classroom.
As a result, my students would benefit from a warm and welcoming classroom environment! They are all ready for this school year and the hands-on and culturally responsive learning that will be encouraged and taught throughout the school year!
My Project
My students need access to more resources to encourage their engagement and motivation to learn. Each of my students has a diverse learning style with unique skill sets that they bring into our classroom. That being said, each of my students requires a different type of resource or strategy to keep them engaged in their learning.
To keep my students engaged and exited about learning, they need resources like these iPads to encourage their growth as young learners.
I plan to use these tablets to record my own lessons for students who are absent. I also plan to use these tablets as a part of small group learning during their station time in reading, math, and science. The possibilities are endless with access to this technology and it is with this technology that I hope my students will foster a love of learning.
