Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are inventive, creative and excited about learning! Although many of them come without the ability to bring supplies or, at times, a lunch, they come ready to do what they can to learn that day.
We have students from a large variety of homes, atmospheres and experiences.
Each day is a new adventure, and I want to provide every opportunity for them to engage and learn. They are eager and excited, and I can't wait to start this new year inspiring their young minds!
My Project
Zentangle is a drawing method that takes repetitive movements to create beautiful drawings that anyone can accomplish. It is meant for stress relief and self confidence: two things our students could use more of these days it seems.
We can't have a club if we have no supplies!
My kids continue to ask me when we will finally be able to start our Zentangle club after school. Without supplies, I cannot begin. Please help my students begin their journey toward creation and self-exploration through drawing.
Students will use the basic materials of paper tiles, pens, and pencils to create designs they did not think they could do before. We will use white and black tiles, color pens and even chalk on chalkboard to show a variety of mediums and how they can branch out on their own art exploration to find what works best for them. They will also receive a journal and a bag to store their creations as the year goes.
