My Students
Do you remember writing your first story as a child? Your first sentence? Your first word? My students love writing, but struggle with the task of spelling, which sometimes makes the writing process very difficult.
My students attend a high needs public school in New York City.
I am the Resource Room teacher and I teach students who are below grade level in reading, writing, and math. My students are energetic and enthusiastic about learning but have their own unique learning struggles that prevent them from performing on grade level at times. They are hardworking and persistent despite their learning struggles, and they inspire me on a daily basis!
My Project
I am requesting Franklin Talking Dictionaries for my students who struggle greatly with spelling. They have strong speaking vocabularies, but when it comes down to writing words they struggle, and thus produce writing pieces that are less developed than they could be. Writing workshop becomes extremely frustrating for some of them, and these talking dictionaries will help them gain writing stamina, improve the quality of their writing pieces, and give them the confidence they need to be successful writers!
Donations to my request for Franklin Talking Dictionaries will help my students become stronger writers, gain confidence, and perform better in school!
Your donation might help inspire a future best-selling author!
