This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a first-time 4th grade teacher at a public school in Illinois, with a sad looking classroom library!
Our classroom library is in dire straits! Right now we have a few brand new books, and a ton of hand-me-downs. All of our books our mixed together, and are not organized by genre. I would love to give my students the opportunity to read new literature that is easy to find in an organized classroom library.
What our classroom needs is an updated, organized classroom library. This new library will benefit my students because I believe the more exposure they have to new books, the more excited they will be to read. They will become better readers, turning them into lifelong learners.
With your help, I can guarantee that the students in my classroom will find a new love for reading. Not only will they become avid readers, but their comprehension, fluency, and writing skills will flourish!
