Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

There is no substitution for hands-on experiences when it comes to science. With this grant, you will help low income children create their own rockets, launch them 700 feet into the sky and gather and process data explaining how energy, momentum, and power fuel flight.

My inquisitive students surprise me everyday with their insight and intuition.

When we explore new concepts and learn new ways of solving relevant modern problems, they never fail to pull in their own experiences and relate their own ideas to the solution of the problem. They are the types of students teachers love to teach, and they are the bright shining light in our nation's future.

My Project

Rocketry is a topic to which students naturally gravitate. It's powerful, motivating, and relevant to their lives. With this project, students will apply physical laws to explain how space flight is possible, and explore ways of applying this knowledge to newer modes of transportation.

Our nation needs aggressive, high spirited, and knowledgeable young people to take on the challenges we face in the near future.

With this project, you will be opening the door for energetic teenagers with an eye for excellence to explore and attack new ideas in physics and engineering.
