Taking Our Voices on the Road: Integrating Chorus Into SPED
My students need a keyboard to help us warm up and perform for chorus. Without a keyboard, it will be impossible to provide a basis for choral instruction. Keyboards give us a foundation and pitch.

My Students
My chorus students are amazing! We will be integrating chorus inside a special education class this year and we are very excited about this! Special Education students are rich in artistic response and ability and add an enormous amount of beauty to our class. We cannot wait to see where this year takes us all! In order to do my best job, I am in need of a simple keyboard to use. This instrument will allow me to accompany the choir and provide a stable foundation on which to build their choral experience.

My Project
This keyboard will allow me to warm up the choir appropriately, enhance the quality of choral instruction, and provide a foundation for my choral students. Setting up my classroom (3rd period) inside the special education space will allow for a much more dynamic approach to music, create a more cohesive school morale, and transmit feelings of empathy for all people involved. The need for a keyboard is great and it is definitely much needed in order for the class to grow and learn. A keyboard inside this special education choral classroom will enable our singing group to gain confidence, build choral skills, and define who they are as musicians.
