About My Students

Melissa, Jessica, and Homer are some of the most diligent and dedicated students when it comes to robotics. They are constantly showing up to every competition and meeting, keeping the team together and organized.

Ian and Alejandro are also a very big part of the team, they both have their strong points. Ian's programming skills are very strong and Alejandro's designing skills really bring the teams robot together. Without the building team, none of this would be possible.

Cathrine has also been a great help and constantly lets us come over to her house to access her supplies and catch up on work. Our build team overall has been a great help (Aiden, Corwyn, Brandon, Alejandro, Catherine, Duaily, and Homer). Melissa, Max, Leandra, and Biansey are our scribes. They make sure we all get something done every meeting so that no meeting goes without any progress on our robot. They also keep track of what everyone does by writing it in our engineering notebook. Everyone on this team is an asset to us.

The tool set I am requesting for my students is super important for us since we are a rookie team and a lot of challenges are coming up, but one of the single most important challenge is having the right tools to start building our robot.

The robot would have electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and electronic parts that I am sure would keep my students excited and engaged through out the building season, but having enough tools is important because that would allow us to build different systems at the same time without the need of waiting for that screwdriver or wrench to be available.

Since time management and team work are important skills to be learned through the project, the tool set will play a pivotal role in the development of those skills for our students.

In Their Own Words

Through robotics we are sure the skills learned like programming, teamwork, and building would be helpful when going into the work field with these skills that will progress over time. We as a team are very excited to keep programming, building, and learning with your help, let's work towards greatness!

Leadership in this project is very important since we have to manage our time, our people, and our progress. By making the most of every opportunity we have to build, program, and further our knowledge. When it comes to competition we will do our best to represent our school with pride.

Robotics is a great way to help encourage students that are interested in STEM careers. We have a team that is underrepresented in STEM fields and this fact has motivated us to do something. We believe that projects like this help play a significant part when trying to close this gap.
