I need help paying the registration fee so that I can attend the Get Your Teach On National Conference, which luckily happens to be in my home state of Florida this year!
My students are absolutely what make my classroom special, and my current group is especially special since I looped with them from fourth to fifth grade! They are kind, bright, inquisitive kids with a wide variety of interests and learning styles. No matter what idea, strategy, or lesson I plan, my students are who breathe life into it and make it successful.
However, kids have changed a lot in the 16 years that I have been teaching; these changes in their interests and attention spans make it essential for educators to evolve and craft our instruction to be interesting and engaging.
Since visiting The Ron Clark Academy in 2017 and attending the dynamic Get Your Teach On Conference, I have kept a tight focus on boosting student engagement in my classroom. Despite their various achievement levels, engagement is something that will impact every individual student and his or her learning experience.
My Project
I have been fortunate to attend Get Your Teach On conferences in the past, so I know how powerful and life-changing they can be. Unlike some professional development that requires teachers to sit and listen to a presenter read from a Power Point, Get Your Teach On provides educators with hands-on learning opportunities as well as resources that can immediately be utilized in the classroom with students.
No matter the topic or the presenter, educators can rest assured that attending GYTO will leave them inspired, invigorated, and better equipped to provide his or her students with quality, rigorous instruction.
These conferences feature a wide range of topics, from integrating games into the classroom to more traditional reading comprehension strategies. This conference is the National Conference, which offers even more new content and more opportunities for me to learn from some of education's most dynamic and creative educators.
