This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year, we will be celebrating Read Across America using the books, "What Do You Do With A Chance?" "What Do You Do With An Idea?" and "What Do You Do With A Problem?" We will be doing a variety of engaging activities throughout the week.
We wanted to focus on Social and Emotional activities to help our children develop skills that they need to take chances, solve problems, and never give up on an idea.
In order to accomplish this, we need books for every classroom so that students will be able to listen to the story multiple times, and then on that Friday, during Read Across America Week, students will have different activities that will go along with each book to support SEL. We also will have guest readers in our community to support our students' learning.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
