My students come from diverse backgrounds but they do not let that stop them from making it to school every day. They amaze me every day with how they are able to come into my room and be ready to grow as learners. We have an over 60% free or reduced rate for lunch in our school. I am hoping to improve the opportunities and experiences for my students that my district may not be able to provide that will guarantee the best environment to be successful. My goal is to make my classroom comfortable to encourage students to take academic risks and step outside of their comfort zones.
My Project
This project is to help fund extra supplies for the students that come to us. So many times students come to school with the bare minimum of supplies. This is not their fault, but most of the time it is due to home circumstances. But, why should they suffer?
Having the right supplies can turn anyone's day around.
It is hard to expect any profession to do their job if they are limited on the materials they have been given. These supplies would go directly to our students to benefit from.
The notebooks will be filled with their creative writing and ideas about the far away places they have read about. The markers will help them master their basic math facts while also competing against their fellow peers to see who is the quickest. The headphones will help bring technology into our room and allow students to travel further into their studies.
