Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My middle school students are AMAZING! They are a diverse group of learners who bring their different ethnicities and cultures to my classroom where they are revered and celebrated! Together we talk about home life, school life, and our own personal dreams, goals, and experiences. I love encouraging them to take care of themselves first, and then the world around them second.

Although many of my students are from low-income families, they are still curious and capable and should be supported with every opportunity that their more affluent peers receive.

I work hard to bring hands-on, investigatory science lessons to my classroom in order to enrich the learning experience. With your help, I will be able to offer more ways for my students to investigate through inquiry and help foster their love for science!

My Project

My students love how our classroom "feels like home". I am committed to continually bringing esthetically pleasing additions to our safe space, and the items in this project will support me in this quest. Help me give my students hands-on learning opportunities, new school supplies, & feminine hygiene products! Turning off the overhead fluorescent lights and turning on the softer watt lamps will definitely help to create a more inviting space where my students feel relaxed and able to learn and participate.

My students have already shared with me that they are eager to return to school following the COVID-19 pandemic, and I want them to come back to an even more joyful classroom than they remember!
