My students need an iPad and Belkin iPad stand as a document camera holder so they can visually learn through guided practice and model their thinking to their peers.
Vince Lombardi once said, "Leaders aren’t born they are made. And they are made just like anything else, through hard work. And that’s the price we’ll have to pay to achieve that goal or any goal." This year I have amazing students who are working to become leaders. They know that hard work and perseverance will help them achieve that leadership status.
My students are 60 fifth grade students that embrace learning through technology.
My students are also very tech-savvy with having 1:1 Chromebooks in the classroom. When given the option of using technology, my students' creative brains starting churning at full-speed. They know that nothing will hold them back when they are motivated and driven to get their ideas out to their audience.
My Project
The Belkin iPad stand will act as my document camera for the Apple iPad. First, it will serve as my outlet to model and guide student learning during direct instruction. I will be able to project text based curriculum, model the writing process, and display math manipulatives through guided instruction from the iPad. Students will have multiple opportunities to come up to the iPad stand and display their learning to their peers. For example, they could explain how they approached a difficult math word or show other strategies in their mathematical thinking. The stand can be positioned as a movie camera so student can video record special writing projects and science experiments. The Apple Pencil will be used as a way to write on the iPad when I record screencast videos for math and science.
Learning needs to be shared and different perspectives need to be displayed to all.
Through this project, my class will have the stand and iPad to be able to interact with materials in very unique ways. They will be able to see learning more clearly from me and help students learn in an innovative way!
