My students need 26 books of The Diary of Anne Frank to understand the Holocaust in a personal perspective and embark in an emotional journey with Anne Frank.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
"Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don’t know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is!"- Anne Frank
My students are spunky, ambitious, loving, considerate of others and eager to understand their stance in life and with that are beginning to put together their own tool kits for future change.
They always want to know how they can do to make a situation better, whether it be in our classroom, our grade level, school wide and our community. They hold each other accountable for their efforts, admit their weakness and the help and support of each other seek to pull strengths. We are a family. Our school community is always encouraging new things to make school life fun. We strive to push our students with our knowledge of their interests to make learning consistently engaging and challenging.
My Project
The Diary of Anne Frank will be our traveling guide as we explore about World War II and the Holocaust. As a class, we will be analyzing events that led up to the Holocaust, learning about genocide and the population of people affected and the importance of autobiographies. To better our experiences with autobiographies we will write our own as we read and get to know Anne Frank.
Your donation to our classroom can allow us to embark in an unforgettable journey through the events of the Holocaust.
For reading books such as the Diary of Anne Frank will challenge us to think about our thinking, inspire us to appreciate and celebrate those who come from different backgrounds than ourselves and help us understand a piece of history through the eyes of the brave Anne Frank.
