This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

A picture is worth a thousand words.....just one of many popular quotes associated with photographs.

We are a fantastic group of energetic, second-graders in an inner-city school.

We are a Title I school in a high poverty area. We are the only IB Elementary School in Central Florida. Nearly all of my students receive free breakfast and lunch and a high number of our families struggle to meet the basic needs of their families. A key component of the IB model is to foster our students to be creative & inquirers. We encourage them to "wonder" & be in charge of their own learning. We encourage critical thinking, questioning & synthesizing through our units of study & the implementation of state standards.

My Project

We foster creativity & collaboration daily through small & whole group activities. Being an IB School is such a magical experience, for the students & the teachers. We are educating our lifelong learners to strive to be Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-Takers, Balanced and Reflective. The IB Programme makes it possible to create more experiences & opportunities in the classroom that fosters students to be genuine inquires, for students to interact with each other in group-work activities & encourage effective teamwork within those groups. Lastly it encourages creativity and various ways of expression through the end of unit, or more formally called Summative Project whereby students present the culmination of the unit of study (6 weeks of learning) in a project form. This digital camera will assist students in their presentations as well as in creating electronic portfolios - larger project items can be photographed to be saved.

Photographs capture a moment that's gone forever, impossible to replace.

Please help my students capture the many awesome moments they share everyday and assist them with their electronic portfolios by helping to fund this project.
