Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in the 4th grade. This school year they are learning in person in our classroom after having a year and a half of online learning during the pandemic. It must have been challenging for my students because they could not have enough support from home while all the learning proceeded at home only. This year must be so meaningful to them because they longed to meet classmates and teachers in person and learn in an authentic classroom with interactions with each other.

My 4th grade students are uniquely diverse culturally with different language backgrounds.

Many may be bilingual learners speaking English at school and another language at home and some are English learners. It is so meaningful because they can learn about differences and learn something from each other.

It is a special learning opportunity for them to be together in harmony with differences in one classroom. We focus on our uniqueness and equity in class as who we are as valued human beings.

My Project

It is very important for students to have ownership with their work. Checking time to complete work and keeping tracking their own work progress.

I want my students to take ownership with their school work by tracking their work and to be responsible with given time at school.

Each student has a different learning pace and they can try to achieve their own learning goal differently. These timers and clock will help my students have time management skills and take ownership with their work by putting stickers on tracking posters whenever they complete their work.
