This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Dear friends, I am the physical education teacher at a small school in South Carolina. Our school has about 280 children in grades K-5. I am writing to request wiffle balls and oversized safe baseball bats. I would like to use this material to teach a safe baseball unit. I will address the topics of grip, stance, swing and followthrough with batting. The older grades will also cover the underhand toss and allow pitching to be part of the activity. The younger grades will use batting T's. The material requested is colorful and oversized which will allow for a much greater success rate for students of varying abilities. Thank you for your time and consideration of this request. These materials will add hours of safe learning about the fundamentals of America's favorite pasttime....baseball!
