My Students
In my classroom, all students are Star Scholars. They are loved unconditionally. Scholars are provided a safe space to take risks, be vulnerable, and develop a sense of childhood curiosity and wonder.
They are thirsty for knowledge, eager to please, and desperately want to be better at "school." We have worked so very hard to cultivate a strong culture of learning that I can honestly say that their drive for success is inspirational.
They have endless energy and enormous hearts!
My scholars are innocent, kindred spirits who deserve so much more than what our society has given them. For many of my students, their future relies solely on their experiences in our school. Regardless of the unthinkable barriers that my scholars experience outside of our four walls, they know that my belief in them never wavers.
My Project
A strong relationship between home & school greatly impacts the school experience for young learners. This relationship is built on many factors such as open communication, trust, and resource sharing.
These packs will provide my Scholars and their families with high quality learning materials that will keep their student learning at home with games that target key math skills and engage the whole family in the learning process!
Each pack will include 15 different hands on math games, including 6 write & wipe game mats and a game board, plus number cards, dice and more, all in a heavy-duty plastic pouch. Plus, an in-depth activity book describes each gam and even explains how family engagement can boost student achievement at school. With easy to follow instructions, these games will help the Scholars develop skills in place value, comparing numbers, ordering numbers, addition, subtraction and multiplication - all of which are vital foundational skills!
These packs will provide my families with the tools they need to actively play with their Scholar while growing their math skills. Rather than traditional homework, worksheets, or the drill-and-kill system to memorizing math, this packs will provide a fun, engaging, and meaningful math experience for my Scholars and their families. And let's be honest - we all retain information MUCH better when we are engaged & having fun rather than memorizing a flashcard or filling in a worksheet!
