My Students

In my first grade classroom, I have 25 energetic six and seven year old learners. My students crave hands-on opportunities where they can take charge of their own learning. They thrive when they can be uniquely creative and discover new ways to explore. During our 80 minute cooperative learning center rotations, students are able to experience this learning style. My hope for all my students would be to have them think outside the box while working as a team.

My students need a daily opportunity to take charge of their own learning.

Providing my students with as many hands-on learning opportunities that challenge their unique creativity encourages them to become a life-long learner.

My Project

The STEM bins and the Plus Plus blocks will encourage opportunities for students to freely think and turn ordinary objects into extraordinary creations! The tools in each STEM bin will have students practice skills in problem solving, engineering, geometry, and visual arts to name a few. Kids are also able to use the STEM bins and Plus Plus blocks to build fine motor skills which is essential when learning basic writing skills. For example students can take Popsicle sticks and turn them into rocket ships or the Eiffel Tower.

STEM bins and Plus Plus blocks will allow my students to think inventively and imaginatively while creating fun learning opportunities.

I want my students to take charge of their learning and seek out new passions through using these tools. Thank you for considering how your donation can improve and enhance my students' learning opportunities.
