Take an Adventure on a Comfy and Cozy Carpet Ride

My Students

I am blessed to teach twenty loving students in my 3rd grade class. I teach in a home school model class, meaning I have both general education and special education students. They come to school excited to start a brand new day and thrive on the structure that school offers them.

Before my students walk into my classroom I ask myself what I can do to help them learn best and be successful.

All of my students have their own story and I want to make sure that I am able to honor each and every student in my classroom. My students love to learn and move when they are able to! I am excited to give them a welcoming classroom to make them feel safe and engage in their learning!

My Project

I am switching to a different school this coming school year and will be in a portable classroom. The classroom needs some help to make it look inviting and to encourage student learning. I am in need of some cozy, comfy, and welcoming carpets.

When students have a cozy and comfy area to sit together, it helps to create a positive classroom community.

The large alphabet carpet will be placed in front of the board and used daily for morning meetings, whole group lessons, small group instruction, partner work, and a place for students to move to as a flexible seating option. This will help us create that community.

The smaller black carpet will be placed in the reading library area. It gives the students a cozy place to stretch out and relax while enjoying reading a book. When students have a comfy and cozy place to read, it helps them fall in love with reading.
