This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My college awareness course teaches students financial responsibility while attending college. My students are learning about financial responsibility toward paying for college. At the end of the year, each student needs to pitch their financial plan toward paying for college to graduate debt-free. Each student needs to research the college and the cost to attend there and obtain the level of degree of their choice. Their final is to present their financial plan to a panel of teachers and peers. We need a podium for our classroom to practice with and get a real-life scenario of presenting pitches to panels. Please help our students prepare for pitches panels with a podium.
Having the podium will give our students a place to keep their notes and arguments and will prepare them to speak at real pitch panels.
Our students would like to practice speaking at a podium to help perfect their public speaking skills.
We are a Title I, performance improvement school with 100% participation in the free lunch program. Many parents work two jobs and are struggling to support the family. Though their environment may not be conducive to learning, my students have an insatiable love of learning! I know that if we provide them with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they will become successful.
