Help me give my students Active Core Engagement Wobble Stools to better engage them in their daily learning and meet individual needs at the same time.
My students have a great love for learning! They are a diverse group of students, who truly are accepting and kind. They thrive when exploring, and collaborating together. They are a group of students who truly work together to make a team. They support each other. They are cheerleaders for success, and encourage their fellow classmates when they need a boost!
Our school is the center of the community.
We are a Title I district located in a beautiful, rural area. We are very tight knit community; many of the residents have lived here over multiple generations. Our school is the center of the community.
My Project
It is very difficult to learn when we are not comfortable. My students love to learn and find a comfortable space to do so.
By having more flexible seating available to my students, they would become more comfortable in their learning environment and better able to engage in what they are doing.
Unlike regular chairs, the wobble stools encourages a child's body to conform to a natural posture. The rounded bottom and flat seat allows one's knees, hips, and back to find a comfortable position to rest as the chair wobbles. The wobbling provides an outlet for restlessness and extra energy while doing work, reading, and engaging in the lesson more. The chairs would not only offer more flexible seating, but meet the needs of many of my students.
These tools will be enjoyed by and will benefit my students year after year. Thank you for reading my DonorsChoose project!
