Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Each of my students are uniquely different. They are exceptional in their own way and though they each have their own set of special needs, they love learning and defying the odds daily. The progress they make may be small or great but we learn together at our own special pace in our own special way.

My Project

Students with special needs learn in so many different ways, but there are always two key ingredients, comfort and consistency. With a new stimulating seating area and learning rug, students can get comfortable as we use the rug to learn our numbers, alphabet, and even colors while using our new seating to engage in smart board activities as well as floor centers. Experience has taught me that in teaching exceptional children, they truly respond best to unique and unconventional learning materials, seating, and technology. These chairs and rug are perfect for active eager learners.
