Take a Seat and Unwind Your Mind!

Help me give my students seating for their mindfulness room. This room will be an environment that students can utilize when they are experiencing emotions or thoughts that are preventing them from learning at their full academic potential.

My Project

Many students started to experience symptoms of anxiety and depression after the many changes and transitions they went through as a result of COVID-19. Mindfulness is the practice of being fully in the present moment utilizing all five senses and research shows that it is effective in reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. This year we are starting a mindfulness room and the seating I am requesting will be for this room. This room will be a calming environment that students can utilize when they are experiencing emotions or thoughts that are interfering with their ability to perform at their full academic potential. Having this added resource on campus will assist students with coping with these emotions and thoughts without the need to leave school.
