This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am a school psychologist and work with a variety of scholars in an urban school district in Cleveland, Ohio. The primary group of scholars I work with has special needs. I primarily assess scholars for special education services. However, I also provide counseling services to typically developing scholars as well as those with special needs. 100% of my scholars qualify to receive free or reduced-price lunch; they are economically disadvantaged and many have parents who've been disenfranchised from school.
The old plastic chairs are extremely uncomfortable; many of them are bending and cracking.
Additionally, placing bright colored chairs in our room will boost the mood of students because they are fun colored!
By donating to our project, you will not only help students sit comfortably in positions that promote attention, you will also make it easier for them to move their chairs around the room. Students will be able to sit and focus on the learning, and not whether or not they will be able to safely move their chairs.
