My Project

Read-alouds are an important part of our day and across days as students refer to books we read earlier in the year and make connections. For many children, our classroom is one of the only places they get to experience books. Books also help model the writing process and inspire us as independent writers.

Books make everything better by bringing joy to our days!

Children are used to having the books available as a part of our classroom collection once we are finished reading them as a class. Some of our favorites such as Knuffle Bunny, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, and No, David! have been well-loved and need replacing. Many others such as Enemy Pie, The Thing About Bees a Love Letter, More Than Words: So Many Ways to Say What We Mean, The Best Part of Me, The Little Red Fort, and The Important Book will inspire us as we continue to grow as writers by responding to text, interacting with books following read alouds, and interacting with books across days and weeks as a part of our classroom collection.
