My Students

My students not only struggle with reading but with the desire to read. I am a special education teacher in a Title I school. Our school strives to assist every student's individual needs and provide our students with experiences that would not otherwise be available to them. My students have struggled with reading during their educational years. When they come to me they not only have a challenge with reading but also with desire to read. Many of my students have a dislike for school and for leaning. I desire to make learning fun and help create an environment that makes students excited about school again.

My Project

My students struggle with reading. They struggle with finding something that they are interested in. These titles are books they would love to read. Since COVID-19 my students have fallen even more behind. They haven't been exposed to reading or been pushed to read at home.

These books will draw them in and help them gain ground they have lost over the last few years.

Research shows that students need to read books to gain more confidence and to move up in reading levels. These books are ones they will enjoy reading and help them become more confident and help them get closer to grade level.
