This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our kiddos need help learning to read. Explicit teaching of phonics is vital to learning written English. This is even more so for kiddos who are deaf/hard of hearing [DHH]. These kiddos CANNOT rely on listening alone to learn how to read.

Reading can be achieved in deaf/hard of hearing students through a variety of methods.

Tactile is just another way to help kids learn phonemic sounds.

With these donations, kids will learn English patterns in phonics. They can use these objects to help give them a connection to the sounds. Manipulating these objects will help them grasp a firm understanding of phonemic foundations.
