Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What I love about my students is that they come to school full of diverse backgrounds and experiences that enhance their learning and the learning of their peers. My students have overcome and are struggling to overcome many different adversities to further their education in hopes to better their lives. Some of the adversities that my students struggle with every day are language barrier. They come from low SES homes, cultural differences that are seen as misbehaviors in American culture, homelessness, broken homes, inequitable school funding, old curriculum, and prejudices from peers and community members.
The odds are already stacked against these students before they even step in to school, and they deserve better because they can learn and achieve at high levels.
My students bring so much excitement, insight, and joy for learning into the classroom. I work with and for a great group of students who deserve all the help they can get to overcome their struggles.
My Project
My classroom is a place of inquiry, exploration, and discovery where students are able to guide their own learning and share their conclusions. These tablets will help students explore and research different countries, governments, and cultures all around the world. They will be able to find different perspectives and current ideas that will guide them in their learning.
These tablets can show the students all the wonders of the world they may never experience in person.
They will be able to take virtual tours, read updated news, watch educational videos, and research. My students deserve access to this technology that can take them all around the world without leaving the classroom.
