Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

We are a school where a 100% of our students receive free and reduced-price breakfast and lunch. My students lack opportunities in using the school's computer labs. The computer labs are frequently closed due to mandated district testing and state testing.

My students are required to use the schools computer lab four times a week.

The school provides two laptops per classroom and each child is expected to meet his/her 45 minutes in reading and math. The teacher has to be creative in creating a computer rotation schedule. My classroom needs tablets for students individual use. The tables will allow my students more opportunities to meet their reading and math goals.

My Project

These tablets that I am requesting will allow me the opportunities to help my students advance in their reading and math skills. The tablets will allow all of my students the opportunity to meet their weekly reading and math goals.

The district mandates that each student has 45 minutes of instructional usage per week.

By having individual tablets in classroom for student use in will put use on he cutting edge in this global learning environment. Technology is a part of our daily learning and the tablets will allow the students an opportunity to advance as learners in today’s global society. We need tablets in our classroom.
