My Students
My students are part of the Academy of Information Technology, a four-year Information technology program. Students learn Introduction to Information Technology (Year 1), Digital Media(Year 2), Web Design(Year 3), and AP Computer Science Principles(Year 4).
We are a STEM / STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) school.
Currently, the Academy of IT has just under 200 students in grades 9-12. More than half of my students are from low-income households. My classroom infuses STEM / STEAM into the curriculum to allow students to have cross-curriculum instruction that incorporates their core subject areas.
My Project
This project is to request 3 tablets that will support students in learning to code with the Sphero Programming Robots that we currently have. We currently have 3 Sphero Programming Robots in our classroom and students are constantly stating that it would be beneficial to have a larger device to use when coding the Sphero.
Every student should be exposed to computer science.
These tables will support us in bridging the technology divide in education, by allowing my students to have a larger device to learn to code and display their graphic design work on.
